Compact Flash.
November 20th, 2008Flash memory devices consume very less power and yet have good transfer speeds. Flash memory allows multiple memory locations to be erased or written in one programming operation. Since compact flash card size is limited (to 4Gb for now), backing up one’s card can be a convenient way of using a single card perpetually.
Recently however, some flash memory devices called multi-level cell devices, can store more than one bit per cell. Many people say that you should not delete photos from your card one at a time. I have never had any trouble, and I do it all the time. I format the card after each download of images to my computer.
